The lab brings together computer scientists, statisticians and biologists, and each of us learns from the others’ training.
The Srivastava Lab is a computational and experimental group, and every project has both a bench side and a computational side. Computationally trained students work with sequencing data they helped generate. Experimentally trained students learn to build and run analysis pipelines.
We develop in Rust, R, and Python, run experiments with PIP-seq and Oxford Nanopore, and meet weekly for joint lab meetings that cover both wet and dry work.
The lab is affiliated with the Genomics and Computational Biology (GCB) and Cell and Molecular Biology (CAMB) graduate groups at Penn / Wistar.
